What does agritech look like in the greenhouse?
When people think of agritech, often the first thought goes to robotics and artificial intelligence. While that’s a branch of agritech, it’s really as simple as looking at what we need to do as a horticultural industry to grow productively.
We’re actively working on a suite of core products that are a part of the foundations of growing, regardless of the type of produce. Our focus is on proprietary technology that enables plant growth for better quantity, quality and overall health of produce.
Fundamentally, agritech helps to alleviate the reliance on manual labour. A world of horticultural automation looks like real-time communication from plants to our horticultural specialists. For example, using technology to indicate that a plant requires watering only when necessary, thereby reducing the expense of excess watering through set blocks of watering time.
We see agritech as the future for growers, and we’re all-in on the automation movement that’s happening on our shores right now.
